You are probably aware that the Senior Citizens Support Group is run entirely by volunteers and does not employ any paid staff. Without the time and effort put in by our volunteers the group simply could not exist.
The expansion of the group and the general wellbeing of the group constantly changes and with it the need for additional volunteers with varied skills also changes. We will provide all the training that is required and we make no restrictions with regard to who may apply and some of the posts can be done from home. We give an indication on each post of the minimum time requirement but if you wished to volunteer extra time it will be gratefully received.
Assistant to Catering Manager: You would help our catering manager if the preparations that are required for our coffee mornings. The minimum time commitment is 08.30 to 10.30 on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month.
Events and Excursions Organiser: We organise 3 theme days, 2 Christmas Lunches and 8 Coach excursions per year. You would take charge of this area of activities, deciding themes, booking entertainment, deciding venues for excursions and organising a group of other volunteers.
Social Media Administrator: Do you like Facebook and other forms of social media? If so then this could be the volunteering opportunity that you have been waiting for. You will design our programme and manage our social media presence.
